About TAK Oslo & Izakaya
TAK Oslo is our Nordic-Japanese rooftop restaurant, a sister restaurant to the acclaimed original in Stockholm. Nordic and Japanese flavours meet here, with a focus on seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients.

Beneath TAK, Izakaya is a lively and casual cocktail bar offering a wide selection of small dishes. With a popular rooftop terrace overlooking Frogner, the Oslo Fjord, and surrounding countryside, Izakaya is a vibrant meeting point for locals and visitors alike.

About the position
The position as Hovmester is available as a 50% or 100% seasonal contract from mid April to mid September. For the right candidate, there is a good opportunity for permanent employment after the end of the season.

You will lead a team of waiters, coordinate daily service, and ensure that every guest experience meets Sommerro’s high standards. You will also work alongside restaurant management to maintain smooth operations in our busy and dynamic venues.

We are looking for you who: 

  • Have experience from a similar role in the restaurant or hotel industry and  want to work evenings and weekends. 
  • Have a natural interest in providing personal service to all our guests. I like to go the extra mile to give the best experience. 
  • Has a good eye for detail and takes responsibility. 
  • Has a naturally positive attitude, is proactive and solution-oriented. 
  • Want to learn, as well as teach others 
  • Communicates well in Norwegian/Scandinavian language and English, both orally and in writing 
  • Have a valid working VISA in Norway 

Tasks:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant during service
  • Hosting and ensuring that guests are well received and followed up 
  • Coordinate and work closely with kitchen, bar and waiters 
  • Ensure that routines for service, quality and hygiene are followed 
  • Responsibility for cash settlement and simple administration in connection with on-call duty 
  • Manage reservations, table spacing and optimal utilization of the restaurant's capacity 
  • Training, follow-up and guidance of waiters and other staff

Sommerro is more than a hotel with 231 rooms and suites. It is a cultural centre and meeting place with seven eateries, two bars, a rooftop terrace, a wellness area, and spaces for work, celebration, and relaxation.
