Villa Nord opens in the heart of Trondheim in 2026 – a boutique hotel with 51 individually curated rooms, restaurant, bar, café and intimate meeting spaces. We are creating a house where experiences are shaped by people, details and genuine hospitality.


We are now looking for an experienced Sommelier who wants to help shape our wine profile from the ground up – and contribute to creating a destination for guests and professionals alike.


About the role


As Sommelier at Villa Nord, you will play a key role in developing our wine identity. You will work closely with kitchen, restaurant and bar to ensure cohesive experiences – from the first glass to the final impression.


This is a role for someone who is both professionally strong and hands-on, and who thrives on building structure, culture and quality from the start. The position reports to the Restaurant Manager.


Your responsibilities


- Developing and curating the wine list for restaurant and café

- Building a balanced portfolio with a focus on quality, identity and profitability

- Contributing to wine purchasing, inventory management and cost control

- Ensuring a high professional standard in service and guest experience

- Training and developing the team in wine and pairing

- Collaborating with the kitchen on menus and wine pairings

- Contributing to developing Villa Nord as a wine and taste destination


Who you are


- Solid experience as a sommelier from a high-level restaurant or hotel

- Strong professional knowledge of wine (WSET, CMS or equivalent is an advantage)

- Passionate about guest experience and hospitality

- Combines structure and commercial understanding with creativity

- Thrives in an environment where you build something new – and set the standard yourself

- Communicates well in a Scandinavian language and English
